We have been advised that certain businesses and organisations have experienced difficulties with their domain (web address) registration service.
All businesses, organisations or groups who have bought and registered a domain name reflecting their business or organisation should ensure that the domain names are registered in their name, are not allowed to lapse and that they are pointing to their correct website. Should the web site be unavailable, or in the process of being established, a holding page should be built to ensure that the public is not re-directed to one of the domain parking websites.
It is also advisable to purchase all versions of the domain name such as .com, .org, .org.uk etc and to ensure that the registration service directs them to the relevant website. This ensures that the domain name cannot be purchased by another company or organisation and that the public cannot be misled about the nature of the services provided.
